Is
God calling you to join those of us who have taken up the Great
Commission given by Jesus?
We
welcome you to come to Mexico and work hand-in-hand with us in
service to God and His people.
Do you have a special ministry that God has given you? We want
to hear about it, and consider how you could be used to serve the
Lord and His people here in the Sierra Madres Mountains.
The Christian Ministry fields here are truly ripe for the harvest. There is much
work to be done, and few are answering the call to bring the
Gospel of Jesus to these lost people.
If
you are a Spirit filled Christian, or you are seeking the will
of God to become a Christian, and can make the trip to Mexico to
assist us in our ministry, we'll be delighted to help you with
all of your travel plans.
Your costs:
We are a none profit Christian ministry.
We do not charge a fee to take part in our ministry.
Travel Costs
You will be responsible for your own travel expenses to the
nearest airport which is 35 miles over the mountains from us in
Guadalajara (we'll pick you up at the airport) or you
can drive in (14 hours from Laredo Texas). We will also assist
you in making travel arrangements, including explaining proper
documentation needed to enter the nation of Mexico.
Transportation
If you fly in, we'll pick you up at the airport and transport
you to a hotel or to our home. On the ministry road trip days we
will pick you up, bring you to the
villages that God leads us to to spread His Word, and deliver
you back to where ever you are staying each evening. We also
will bring you to the airport when it's your time to leave. We
charge no fees for transportation.
Lodging - Our Home
Small groups of up to four adults are
welcome to stay with us in our home
at no cost for short term mission work, while arrangement of hotel rooms will be made
for larger groups or extended stays.
Lodging - Hotels
Clean and safe hotel rooms
located in the Village of Chapala will range in cost to you from
$20.00 to $35.00US per night, per room, with up to two occupants
allowed per room.
Food
If you are staying with us in our
home, you will be expected
to pitch in for the cost of food (about $10.00 US or less
per person per day). We'll see to the preparing and serving of
your meals. If you are not staying in our home you will have the
option to choose to have your meals with us, or to partake of
the restaurants and cafes in the village where you'll be
staying.
We are very familiar with the local restaurants and will be
happy to make suggestions. We usually eat out one night a week
and we can all go together. Some of the best home made tacos and
tamales in the state of Jalisco are available in the village of
Chapala, and for only seven pesos each, about 68 cents US.
The fruits and vegetables are all grown locally, are vine or
tree ripened, and are better than any we had ever had back in
the states. The breads and pastries are fresh baked daily in the
village. We have bananas and avocados growing in our yard, and
limes, guava, pomegranates, and mangos grow wild in the jungle
surrounding us.
During the day, when on ministry road trips, we eat in the cafes
and at the sidewalk stands in the villages. The food is traditional,
cheap, delicious, and very safe. Sharing the culture and the
food of the locals will add a wonderful experience to your trip.
You will be well off of the tourist route and will see Mexico as
she really is. And she is beautiful!
Ministry materials and supplies used
We would
also ask that you cover the cost of any ministry supplies you
may use while here. Spanish Christian tracts to hand out cost us
about 30 cents each and Spanish and Indian dialect audio tapes of the
gospel cost us 60 cents each; these prices include our costs for
shipping and
handling. We make no
financial profit from the ministry materials used by you. We
can tell you how to purchase Spanish New Testament Bibles to
bring with you for $2.00 US per copy in case lots.
Our work
Note;
This will be a Christian Ministry working trip. You will be given the
first day of your arrival to rest up, and then the following day we go
out into the fields of harvest. You can expect to be visiting mountain
villages to present the gospel of Christ at least three days out of the
week, possibly more, depending on your length of stay. Spouses may
choose to remain behind in our home and assist with the preparing of
meals if desired.
Down
Time
We are Holy Spirit filled Christians. Our down time between ministry
road trips will be filled with Bible discussions, times of prayer, and
light hearted Godly
Christian fellowship. We try to work in a half day of hiking in the jungle
and mountains near our home while you're here and also a trip to the
Chapala lake front market area. Our home is a joyful place to be and we
welcome you.
For married couples
My wife and I have been married 33 years, have
been through the fire, and if desired, can offer Biblical marriage counseling to
married couples that come to Mexico to work with us.
Our
requirements of you:
(1)
You and all members of your group must be Holy Spirit filled Christians.
(2) As a sign of being Spirit filled, you must have a burning desire to
serve God by bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to His people.
(3)
We are all sinners, but if you are living in ongoing sin with out
seeking repentance and forgiveness through the blood of Christ, please
go before the throne of God and cleanse yourself before coming
here. We do not entertain alternative life styles.

" Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with
mankind".
You
must be in good health and able to walk at least 3 miles per day. Please
do not bring small or undisciplined children of any age on this trip.
Please note:
If you are unable to make a trip to Mexico at this time, you can
still help with God's ministry to the people here. We are in
need of supplies used in our ministry. The Gospel tracts, and
audio/video ministry items we use are not available here and
must be sent from the United States. We average giving out
around 200 audio tapes per day when on a ministry road trip.
We are totally self supporting for all of our personal needs
such as housing, utilities, vehicle, gasoline, food, medical, etc., and
also most of the ministry supplies we use. However, due to the
overwhelming needs of the people God has placed us among to
serve, we are in great need of additional assistance in
acquiring ministry supplies. Not one item or one cent of
donated funds will be for our own use. If you can't make a
